· No Credulity, No Transfer
Common Scenario: Fraudsters may impersonate law enforcement officers, government officials, or bank staff, claiming that you are facing legal or financial issues and asking for sensitive information or money to clear suspicions.
Be cautious if you receive suspicious SMS or voice calls, and do not comply with any of such requests. If in doubt, please immediately contact CIBHK’s staff at (+86) 95561 (Mainland China) or (+852) 6619 5561 (Hong Kong) to verify the authenticity of the communication.
· Avoid Clicking on Links
Common Scenario: You may receive emails urging you to click on embedded hyperlinks for various purposes, such as confirming express delivery arrangements for encoders.
Beware of potential phishing attacks and do not perform any actions as requested by them. Look out for suspicious sender addresses, claims of abnormal account activities or transaction requests with “Warning” or “FYI” in subject lines, or urgent requests for sensitive information, especially through hyperlinks. CIBHK never requests any sensitive information (such as login credentials or passwords) via email hyperlinks or SMS. If you doubt the legitimacy of any communication, please contact CIBHK directly and refrain from clicking on any links.
